Senzeni Zambezi

Senzeni has been with Campbell & Co. Lawyers since 2015 and a director of the firm since January 2018. She was admitted to the WA Supreme Court in 2010 and the High Court of Australia in 2014.

Areas of expertise

Senzeni Zambezi (known as ‘Zeni’) is originally from Harare in Zimbabwe. She migrated to Australia in 2004 and obtained  her Law Degree from The University of Notre Dame, Western Australia. She works in all aspects of Family Law Wills, Powers of Attorney, Estate administration and is developing our firm’s Conveyancing practice.

Before moving to Canberra Zeni worked for five years in a medium-sized Estate and Family Law firm in Bunbury. During her time in Bunbury Zeni worked primarily in Estate Law assisting clients navigate the legal system at a time they are most vulnerable and grieving for their loved ones. She also assisted in Estate planning across generations of families.

After moving to Canberra Zeni obtained her Masters of Laws (Applied Law) majoring in Family Law. Zeni has a passion for children’s matters and seeking a quick resolution so parents can focus on parenting and watching their children grow.

The scale and breath of Zeni’s Family Law works extends from straight forward divorce involving separation under the one roof; child support agreements; financial agreements and reaching agreements through negotiations, mediation, collaborative practice and through the Court process. She has experience in dealing with married relationships, de facto relationships and same-sex relationships.

She works towards settling matters in formal mediations, ensuring that her clients’ needs are met, and the matter is finalised appropriately. She has experience in Court litigation which she does with consistent success.  Zeni has worked across a variety of Family Law matter including children’s matters involving grandparents, relocation interstate , cases with significant domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse and undefended cases. Zeni also deals with complex and simple property law matters assuring that client works towards the big picture and were possible settle without the need for litigation.

Zeni is currently the solicitor in charge of the Conveyancing practices, leading a small team that assist client with sales or purchases of residential property and land in the ACT and NSW, off the plan purchases, transmission applications, applications by survivorship and tenancy applications. Zeni role is client engagement and to build a strong rapport with clients and stakeholders.

Zeni’s compassion and “big picture” attitude when dealing with clients is attributed to her belief that everyone should have access to justice no matter how big or small and costs should not be a barrier. 

She has a keen eye for detail and prides herself on providing clients with a comprehensive legal service from beginning to resolution and keeping her clients informed every step of the way. She is building an excellent reputation amongst clients, her community and colleagues alike.

Zeni was a nominee for the 2018 Woman Lawyer of the Year – Culturally and Linguistically Diverse or Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander award.

She also holds a Certificate IV in Small Business Management and is  fellow of the College of Law.
